Bread Pudding

Preheat Oven:  350`

2 Quart Casserole

Ingredients:
4 C. - Milk
4 - Eggs
4 C. - Bread cubes
1/4 tsp. - Nutmeg
3/4 C. - Sugar
1/2 tsp. - Salt
2 tsp. - Vanilla Extract

Directions:
1.  Scald milk.  

2.  Beat 2 eggs plus 2 egg yolks with salt, sugar, vanilla, and nutmeg in a 2 qt. casserole. 

3.  Temper egg mixture with hot milk and then add the rest of the milk.  Add bread.

4.  Place casserole in pan of hot water in the oven.  Bake at 350 degrees until set (approximately 40 minutes).

Variations:  Add 1/2 cup raisins or currants.  For creamier texture replace 1 cup of milk with 1 cup of cream.
